The students at The Joseph Whitaker School have produced a fine set of examination results this year. The school pass rate is 100%, the A*-B pass rate is 84% and the A*-C pass rate is 94%.
The % of students gaining at least one A*/A grade is over 50%. We are naturally delighted with these results.
Some of our highest achieving students are named below.
They all worked incredibly hard and they were denied the opportunity to achieve beyond expectations when examinations were cancelled. Although they have not been able to sit their final examinations the process for awarding grades was incredibly robust and this is a culmination of years of hard work.
Paige Daniels achieved the perfect GCSE results in 2018 with all Grade 9’s or A*. Her 3 x A* at A Level mean she has the perfect academic record placing her in the top 1%of students nationally. She now goes onto Durham to study Philosophy and Theology. Paige will be joined at this prestigious university by Molly Bird and Liam Mahan, who will be studying Anthropology and Archaeology and Engineering respectively.
Law, Geography and Engineering have proved to be popular university options this year with Jamie Vaughan (Manchester), Natalie Purewal and Jacob Wright (Leicester) gaining places on Law courses, Molly Rooth-Corder (Queen Marys London), Isabelle Flint and William Hammond (Birmingham) going on to study Geography, as well as Adam Lloyd (Chemical – Nottingham) and Liam Miekle (Aerospace – Liverpool) focusing on Engineering degree courses.
Many other students are starting careers and apprenticeships and we look forward to hearing about the future successes of this excellent year group.
