Letter from the Deputy Headteacher

The Joseph Whitaker School’s Post 16 Application System is now open

We are delighted to be able to hold our post 16 information evening on Thursday 4 November 2021 6:00pm until 8:00pm face to face.

The Joseph Whitaker School has a high performing Sixth Form with outstanding academic success.  Each year a significant number of our students successfully go on to Russell Group universities.  We also welcome applications from students currently attending other schools.  Many such students join us each year and have a very positive experience both academically and socially.

The evening will take the form of a presentation by me and Mr Jacques; Head of Sixth form and I, with an opportunity to visit each department where you will be able to learn about the courses we have on offer.  The presentation specifically will share the following information with you:

  • Post 18 destinations – 44% of our students went to Russell Group universities in 2021 and 2022.
  • The application process   All applications are online using the link below or via the school website
  • Students are also encouraged to speak to their subject teachers, in order to gain more information about each individual subject, alongside reading the Post 16 Prospectus  which is available on our website or by clicking the link
  • The entry criteria for Post 16 study.
  • The wider benefits of sixth form life
