Dear Parent / Carer / Students
Ofsted inspection March 6 2019
Please find attached the official Ofsted letter detailing their findings in the recent inspection.
Ofsted report that the ‘school continues to be good’, which is the best possible outcome available in a Section 8 inspection.
Given the volatility of the educational landscape during the last 4 years and the current financial challenges facing schools, I am absolutely delighted with the outcome and the comments made by Ofsted in the letter.
Additionally, it was fantastic to see such a positive response from both parents, students and staff in the questionnaire results. The inspection team reported that they were incredibly impressed by the scale of the responses and the support for the school. Thank you all for that.
There are some lovely quotes within the report including the ‘welcoming and inclusive ethos’, ‘pupils are happy and proud to be members of the school’ and ‘staff morale is exceptionally positive’.
Our challenge is to continue to reduce the national achievement gap between pupil premium boys and all other pupils. This gap is below national averages at JWS but, with parental support, we remain committed try to reduce it further.
On behalf of the staff, the Governors and myself we thank you for your continued support.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries in relation to the Ofsted feedback
